I am curious how does everyone get money for guns and gear?? I have a few guns but I started buying them back in 1996. Some years i have allot of disposable income and others I dont. However I would like to consistently buy guns on a regular basis. Any tips or tricks? Maybe a side job.

Well, a side job would definitely do the trick! I've sold plenty of stuff from other hobbies that I'm no longer interested in. You can look around your house and there are lots of little items gathering dust, depreciating daily, that you will never use again. I got rid of mine. That's one reason I love buying guns, especially used ones off of the classifieds. They aren't going to depreciate. Have several that I have bought, used but treated well, and sold later at a profit.

I'm single with 0 kids! My money is just that, my money.

The reason my wife and I clicked is that neither of us has any desire to ever have children. We also both have really good jobs and neither of us really enjoys to travel. I also get a company car with gas and insurance included, I do pay a small fee per mile I drive though. These reasons, along with us owning a more modest home than most equal a lot of discretionary income. Also, my wife's hobby actually makes money. Maybe I'm selfish, but I like my lifestyle.

one thing for me is not owning guns that i know i wont shoot consistently, i know people that own a bunch of guns but never really shoot them that is why i have
ar15 (3gun and just plinking)
benelli M2 (3gun and clays)
XDM 9mm (for production and carrygun)
M&P .40 (for limited shooting)

my other guns i sold because i knew i wouldn't shoot them.... so i think part of it is putting money into guns you will actually shoot....

very slowly - I have kids and a wife and I'm too poor to buy them. I guess I could just be happy with what I have - never going to happen!

I don't shoot my rifle nearly as much as I would like but it's no fun to spend time at the range by myself. In fact, I get so little range time that I've even considered selling my rifle. It's nice to look at and fun to shoot but if I rarely shoot it, what's the point in having it? :(

I debated those same feelings of selling because I never shoot them. However good investments and if SHTF then I want them to arm other members of my made clan!

My clan is on their own if something happens because my rifle will have to be pried from my dead fingers. LoL That is the only reason I haven't sold it, in case something happens. Or, if some other douche bag president signs a semi-auto rifle ban, the prices will sky rocket and then I would have nothing.

i got a wife and 3 kids. i have to save! takes longer, but still works. should be better soon though, the wife just became a massage therapist and is real close to making more than me.... B)

Father of two still in grade school and married at 51yrs of age. Living on a fixed income due to injuries from Iraq. Plus being retired from the US Army since 1997. So it just takes time. There have been times when I had to sell most of what I own in firearms to make ends meet. Yet its what they are there for, except for a small few everything has been replaced a couple of times over.

Personally I just wait until we have more disposable income and $ to buy. It takes time and patients that I really dont have. However I dont want to buy a gun on credit.
