Have owned a couple of the 9mm and the 40 cal. Great little shooters. Pretty accurate for the price. Really enjoyed mine. They also have a lifetime warranty.

I kind of wanted one but can't figure out when I'd use it.

For plinking at 25 yards it is hard to beat a .22.

I have a nice 357 lever gun that hardly ever gets brought out for casual plinking as .22 is just so much cheaper.

I've always wanted to convert a .357 lever gun to 9x19.

Why?

I imagine the pointed bullets common in 9mm parabellum might cause issues in a tubular magazine... and the .357 really comes alive out of a longer barrel ballistics-wise, unlike 9mm. I feel fine hunting deer with the 357 carbine... Not so much with a 9mm.

The only semiauto pistol caliber carbines I personally find really interesting are those that take the same mag as your sidearm, or carbine conversion kits... The Kel-Tec Sub 2000, Beretta Storm, etc. Plus sub-guns or suppressors (subsonic pistol ammo for the win), but that involves NFA headaches.

Basic reason is the same - to have your carbine shoot what your handgun does. Also, the Great American Reason - to see if I can. :)

The ogive on most FMJ 9mm isn't steep enough to trip a properly seated primer, any more than FMJ .357 would. Not that I shoot FMJ at anything but paper targets. I think with the right powder and projectile selection you could make 9mm excel in carbine form.

I say I want to start with .357 since not only are the cases and bore similar but the pressure levels are too.
