help out a new guy?

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I've never been hunting before, but always kinda wanted to.

Can any of you kind people give a noobie a crash course or point me in the right direction of how to get started, general info, etc? I'd really appreciate it as I'd like to give it a "shot" sometime...

Also, is it required that you use a scoped rifle? All I've got at the moment is a couple of old Mosins.

the first thing you are going to have to do is take a hunter education course if you were born after 1981. its not a big hard deal cause i went and did it with my son. he was about 15. remember it is geared towards kids, 9,10. nobody can sell you a lic. till you are educated.

get a set of SC hunting and fishing regs, wal mart or other. its free. learn where to take the course , its free unless you use the internet, $15, then you still have to meet DNR and take the actual test.

read the regs. ex: no hunting is allowed within 300 yds of a residense, EXCEPT a landowner may hunt his own land.

that will keep you busy for a while, IM GOING HUNTING.
