Welcome to SC. I also came here when I was 48yo, but my trip was from commiefornia instead of nj. That was 21 years ago and it was the best move i've ever made. Again, welcome.

its an adjustment for sure, but so far, i like it alot.

You certainly made the right decision. I left NJ 13 years ago and have never been back. Property taxes alone can justify the move. SC is a great place to live and grow old, which is exactly what's happening to me!
