Aaron and Chris found themselves in a conversation regarding full size and compact carry guns recently. We talked about the typical points of capacity, frame size, and ease of concealment, but when it came to velocity none of us had an answer. So, they took the chrony out to the range to see how much barrel length really affected velocity.
As an afterthought, Aaron added the energy in foot pounds to the table of data. On average, there's a 6% drop in energy for each step down, which is about a half inch of barrel in this case.
