While I have enjoyed the Glock 19 (my carry gun) for my first year of competition shooting, I think it is time for an upgrade!

Sooo.... I am saving up my pennies to buy a Glock 34 for shooting in USPSA Production. I am really excited about this and hope to have the money for the gun and extra mags by the end of the summer. I will also need a new holster to go on my competition belt. I was wondering about your thoughts on a good holster.

What about these? Is the Blade-Tech holster legal for Production?

Are there any other things I need to be thinking about when I get my new baby? :)

Talk to TroyF - he makes some BAD ASS holsters and are cheaper than both of those...plus he is a mod on here and a local PD - support local!

Look at triple crown holsters. Local & site sponsor. Holsters made by a competitor.

Triple Crown

Both the ones you listed are prod legal and both are very high quality. I've owned both and have no preference. That said, save a little $$$ and get Troy to make you one.

Anything else to think about? Well, an Accurate Iron sight, trigger, internal magwell and stipple job are a must.

I have 5 of the doh BladeTech holsters. If you want to try my entire G34 gun/belt/holster, etc let me know. It's yours anytime.

Thanks for all the info!
I will definitely be talking to Troy about a holster.
...and looking into some adjustments from Accurate Iron.

I am still a couple of hundred shy of the gun, but I went ahead and took your advice about the holster.
I got a hold of Troy at www.crown3x.com and had him make a holster for my soon-to-be new gun.
He got it to me today and it looks great. I am excited that I was able to get a good holster for less money AND support a local guy!

Saddle before the horse. I like your style :P

Easier to justify the "horse". Can't have that holster just sitting around doing nothing, right? :D

It's all a part of the plan to create the "Farnham Shooting Team". I am slowly (poor teacher!) getting more handguns so that Mom, Dad, and Son can shoot together once son gets older! :)

Did u want to test out the new triple crown with my G34 production gun Sunday night at Heartland.

I won't be able to be there. The wife is out of town this weekend for work, so I have some Mr. Mom duties to take care of instead. (aka go watch a judo tournament and go fishing!) :)
Thanks for the offer and I will get with you if I decide to take you up on borrowing the gun/equipment.

The holster got me motivated so I sold a few things and scrounged up the rest of the money! I bought the G34 last week and took it to it's first match at USSA on Saturday. :)

I had checked my reloads in the gun earlier in the week and was excited to try it out at a match. The gun and the Triple Crown holster were great!!! The longer grip and sight radius were awesome to have. I enjoyed getting so familiar with my carry gun (g19), but this g34 is going to be fun! :D

Next up... looking forward to some dry fire and range time to get used to my new purchase.
