GE Moving from Wisconsin . Keep your eye on Waukesha , Wisconsin ......Their biggest employer just moved out. General Electric is planning to move its 115-year-old X-ray division from Waukesha , Wis. , to Beijing . In addition to moving the headquarters, the company will invest $2 billion in China and train more than 65 engineers and create six research centers.

This is the same GE that made $5.1 billion in the United States last year, but paid no taxes - the same company that employs more people overseas than it does in the United States . So let me get this straight. President Obama appointed GE Chairman Jeff Immelt to head his commission on job creation (job czar). Immelt is supposed to help create jobs. I guess the President forgot to tell him in which country he was supposed to be creating those jobs.

Thanks Jeff, you're a "real" American....give Barrack our Best! If this doesn't show you the total lack of leadership of this President, I don't know what does. Please pass this information to others and think about it before you buy a GE product.

Basically, GE is trying to expand into the Chinese medical supplies market. They don't intend on closing down the facility in Wisconsin and don't plan on the 120ish jobs going anywhere. Four executives are moving to China to start the new business.

Beerman...you are missing the big picture. The head of GE is the CZar for the Obamanation...It is his job to create new jobs...

Now he is creating new jobs alright...IN CHINA...

Even if he is sending 4 Execs to China...He is still trying to help the Chinese employ their people...When Our Pres. is paying him to build jobs here...

Oh, I understand the big picture. My point is that it's not like he's taking jobs away from the US (except for the four executives). GE is trying to get into the Chinese medical supplies market. It makes sense that if that is the market they are getting into, they should do that part of their business in China.

Trust me, I want Obama out of office and more jobs in the US, but you can't expect a company as big as GE to only do business in the US these days. No matter who is their CEO.

I don't know enough about Immelt to say if he's created jobs in the US since taking this czar position or not, but I do know that GE is a large employer in South Carolina. A quick google search shows they have around 3,000 people working in Greenville, and I know that they have a plant in Florence.

GE like all corporations do what is best for the profits and stockholders. Companies do not exist to provide jobs but to make money. It's the business hostile environment that out gubmint creates that ultimately drives jobs overseas. Why do you think the Euro companies (BMW, Michelin, etc) came here? To escape even worst conditions! Question is: what is the next frontier after China?

if you knew much about Africa, you wouldn't bet very much on that. :-) Maybe Tanzania/Kenya. The rest of the place is barely out of the Stone Age, and the mentality is worse.

Who are you? Why do you think you know everything?
