Well, returned to work today after a month away just to get my 30 day notice of furlough. Anyone need a part-time guy one day a week from July 8-Sept 21? I'm your guy. I'll refrain from saying how I really feel.

I heard on the radio that some pentagon workers figured out they could take one week off per month instead of one day a week. By doing that they can claim unemployment insurance benefits somehow. Screwing the system over for real, but certainly an option I would take advantage of, just to spite.

Sorry to hear man. Good luck with everything.

Yep! I'm in the same boat as you. But, hey, at least I will have every friday off in Jul-Sep. :?

Got an email today with a link to an AP report saying the furloul be reduced from 11 to 6 days. Looks solid as that is what the front office is saying as well. They still have to cut 54 billion in Fy2014 and the report says that will be on lay-offs and more furloughs, so we'll see. I don't think we'll see them in the first half of the year, probably July again. At least now I know I'll probably get to go home to Texas for Christmas.

Got it confirmed today that it is done. So, next paycheck will still be two days short, then the one after that will be one day short. Now if my school and the VA would pull their heads from their third point of contact, my GI Bill will hopefully be fixed by tomorrow. If not, semester may be over for me this month. Just one bum deal after another.

I got a letter via email from the SECDEF the other day confirming this. Hopefully there won't be any furloughs next FY or worse, layoffs. Hope your GI bill money comes in soon.
