This winter I want to put a Samson hand guard on my Stag carbine. Is 15" too long? Or should I get the 12.37" Evolution? At some point I'll be changing the barrel, but who knows when.

13" handguard is perfect for 16" barrels
15" handguard is perfect for 18" barrels. In my opinion at least.
It leaves enough space from the end of handguard to the comp so that your hand won't accidentally get tok close to danger.

Any ideas other than the Samson? I really like how it mounts. What I dont want is a quadzillion rail cheese grater. Plus I like the idea of sacrificing the delta ring instead of having to remove the barrel.

The Troy Alpha rail is very strong and secures with the standard barrel nut.

Here's mine. 18" barrel 15" Troy Alpha

That looks great! Thanks for the ideas. I figured there were other options, just didn't know what to look for.

You can always put a hand stop at the end of the hand guard to prevent getting too close to the comp.

I've got a 16" lightweight Red Dot rifle that uses a 15" AP Customs Handguard with a Titan comp.
It's pretty frickin' sweet
