My dad has an old Franchi 12 gauge semi-auto. We were out clay bird shooting and when we got to that gun it would fire, but the bolt would stick back and the next shell wouldn't chamber. We kept having to push the barrel down into the chamber and pull the bolt back numerous times before it would finally chamber a round.

Any experts have an idea of what this might be? There are a couple gunsmiths in town, but neither of them wants to try and work on a Franchi. heh Hoping it might be something simple we can fix.

maybe its a spacer, not the actual cyl.; Theres something in there that gets flipped around for lt vs heavy loads. Kurt M showed me when I was having issues with my 20g 48al. Should be something on the web.

If I recall there is a ring you have to flip one way or the other for heavy loads and one way for light loads, it's been a good 10 years since I was even into mine. If I find the time I'll take it out of the safe and get a picture BUT don't take that to the bank it's been stupid crazy. Later,

Yeah, someone else had mentioned that ring needing to be flipped depending on what kind of load we were shooting. We normally just shoot the cheap stuff when shooting clay birds, so we figured it was on the correct setting since that's what we did last time we had it out.
