Nice finds.

I noticed that in one of the stories, the perp soaked up one service round from a LEO then took four more center of mass from a .45 and was still in the fight. All handguns are ballistically inefficient...

could have been hits to the side and the guy could have been 400 lbs. i didnt see it said center mass.

I figured abdomen = center mass. Not necessarily in the vital zone but still a center of body hit... Good work on the citizen's part. It sounds like a tough shot to make, with the perp on top of a LEO.

First article was interesting in that it took a head shot, after 5 body shots, to get the guy down and dead. Drugs?

Also that the reporter felt it necessary to say he carried a CWP. I really do not believe a CWP would have been required but perhaps Louisiana does not allow you to keep a firearm in the car without one.

Second, how is stabbing someone several times in the upper body and neck an "Assault", I'd have figured that was "Attempted Murder". It is interesting to see how the coward stopped his actions and surrendered once someone with the ability to defend themselves showed up.

Maybe they didn't want to offend him

I think the first story is from 2008 or so.
I'll go through my history and try to find the article with an interview with the shooter.

I believe there's still a "My baby diddnt do nuttin'!" suit against the shooter from the mother of the assailant.

Could have also been plain old ball ammo too. not much stopping power.

Isn't that what they always say! Even when the "Baby" has a history a mile long.
