Sitting here pondering the horrible events, the media frenzy, the political knee jerk reactions; I am struck by a horrifying thought!......What if all this drives another crazy to go out and try to out do the mass shootings to date.............................The horror is, that there is little to nothing we can do to stop it.....It scares me to think what the anti gun rabid dogs would make of such a occurrence.........

Perhaps this is not a good thing to surmise, but the anti gun people and the media would welcome another tragedy to add fuel to the anti gun momentum.

Part of the reason that mass shootings occur is BECAUSE the media sensationalizes them to the point where the crazies WANT to top the last big thing.

That being said, a lot of folks feel like some of the recent shootings were false flag attacks...I know that sounds tin-foil hat-ish, but it's playing perfectly into the gun control frame of mind. I mean, when the Sandy Hook shootings happened, ALL the initial reports said the AR was found in the trunk and pistols were used, now the media is saying it was an AR only. Who knows what really happened? But I do know the media is spinning it to suit the liberal left/gun control crowd.

I read a blog post recently that had a video of BBC show in the post, the episode showed a clip of an expert who said the media hype and circus often fuels another attempt at a mass murder. I don't remember if the post, the host of the show, or the expert said it but two weeks is when they generally start to keep an eye out for copycats.

I'll take a look around in a bit and see if I can find it.

I've heard it called the "copycat phenomenon." The mass media attention inspires others who are seeker their moment of "glory." These events do happen in clusters.

Wait for them to ratchet the two minute's hate directed at us up to 11 after the next incident.
