Palm Beach County commissioners on Tuesday passed two measures intended to start a statewide gun control debate. The commission first called for the Legislature to outlaw the sale of high capacity ammunition magazines, like those used in the Jan. 8 Tucson, Ariz., shooting. Then it called for the Legislature to change a state law allowing guns in Florida parks. In addition, the county's proposal would double the area around some public facilities where guns are prohibited.
