Finally saved up enough money (worked over time) to purchase my first handgun. Only shot 20 round today, going to look into going to a range next Thursday.

The grip is red, not pink as the camera makes it seem. Very excited to take it to the range!

I see you're from del city. Please don't tell me you got it from Gunworld...
Hahaha, that is a big NO! Bass Pro, I contacted a few places and Bass Pro was the cheapest, never even tried Gun World. I want to go to a range next Thursday and after what I have read about Gun World I don't even think I would pay to shoot there since that would mean supporting the way they treat people.

I see you are from Stillwater, I shot the target pictured on my mother's land in Carney, any good ranges in the area?

The best thing around here is a free public range 40 minutes north east in a 1.73-horse town by the name of Pawnee. It is okay for me, but I wouldn't travel from DC/MWC for it. If I still lived back home, I'd join the OKCGC

good gun, you are going to like it.

Don't forget about the carbine kit.

careful with that.

Wouldn't that be converting to an SBR as soon as you attached a stock to that reciever/frame? I know Thompson went thru a bunch of crap with the ATF over this sort of deal.

deadpool, if you ever want to shoot a match, i have a gun you can borrow, holster, etc.... it will really get you hooked on shooting!!! just let me know..

Shoot a match as in a real competition? I would like to check out a match before I jump in, at this point I might just humiliate myself, lol. I am really interested, though, thank you for the generosity! Are there any matches where I could come and watch and meet a few of you guys? Seems like a great community, you will probably be seeing donating member under my username soon.

Any match, but you'll wish you'd come to shoot.
Give us a heads up before coming to "watch", I'm sure someone would be willing to throw some extra gear in their bag for you.

come to the heartland match on sunday (this sunday), it is the most "beginner" friendly match and just trust me when i say you won't want to watch. We have a new shooter orientation (the guy that puts it on isn't the coolest, but he does a decent job) and then we will put you at the "back of the line" that way you can watch 15 people shoot before you do.... if you watch you will be upset you didn't shoot.....

Consider it done, I will look around here and see what matches are coming up in 2 weeks or more since I work weekends, but I should be able to switch days with someone in a week or two.

I can't get this Sunday off on a short notice, just asked my manager. But I will be looking around to see what is coming up so I can schedule accordingly. I am off Wednesdays and Thursdays until we start our new shifts in July, hopefully I will be off weekends then, but right now I may be able to trade days off if I have enough of a notice. I think I am already addicted. Will I need to bring any money for entering?

the next heartland match will be on the 3rd sunday of july... just 20 dollars to do the match... also PM sent with more details..

Congrats on the new handgun! You'll love it. That is my favorite .22 handgun.
Thank you! I already do! Just wish I had more time yesterday to shoot it, I get off of work at 7pm and don't think that would be enough time to go to a range.
