My wife and I were bumbling around in the safe the other night and picked up my Walther PPK/S-BB (yes, it's a BB gun). She found she really liked the fit and feel of it in her hand. We've had the hardest time to find a good fit for her. I imagine the real Walther PPK/S would fit just as well as this one does, but I would like to hear similar suggestions of a pistol that would have a similar feel, though maybe in a more powerful caliber (than 380 or 32 or BB :)) and might have a simpler action such as DAO. One thing she likes most other other small pistols such as the LCP is the PPK has a longer 4-finger grip (no pinky under or pinky on mag extension). Thanks in advance for your input.

The Bersa Thunder 380 is almost a duplicate of the PPK.Everyone whom I have spoken to who owned one praised it for dependability and accuracy.

Has she tried a CZ82 in 9x18. It has a good feel. I've not shot that caliber but the 380 version felt pretty good. The 9x18 has a punch just below the 9mm luger. The East German or Bulgarian Makarov in that caliber is good.I enjoy shooting it. I'll bring one to Shootzenfest if she would like to try it out. The polish Makarovs P83 and p64 may be to her liking. SOG has the P83 for 179.00, the Bulgarian Markarov for 239.00, the P64 for 169.00 and the CZ82 for 209.00. I will say that the P64 is a handful with the recoil from the 9x18 but it is in the PPK class.

Southern Ohio Gun Distributors. Sorry, I don't discuss gun sites like this often. C&R people love and hate SOG. We love it cause they got all kinds of neat C&R stuff. We hate it because they have all kinds of neat C&R stuff. Check with your favorite FFL about ordering something from them if you aren't C&R or if it requires an 01 FFL.

Replace the main spring with a slightly heavier one and its not bad at all to shoot. The Polish Radom P64 is much smaller and the recoil is a bit harsh due to small frame and lighter weight but both fire the 9mm Makarov, a larger bullet than the 9m parabellum, but with a smaller charge behind it. Both are military surplus but shoot well, are extremely easy to maintain, and are very cheap.

I had a ppks before all of the new gen small 380s came out. I liked it but I prefer the combloc 9x18 guns to the ppks. I have a cz82 currently and will be ordering a p64, maybe tomorrow.

I owned one for 4 years and loved it..two tone

Pcshogun, you stated that the 9mm Makarov utilized a larger bullet than the 9mm Parabellum.I believe that they use the same diameter bullet but the case lengths were different.Did you mean weight of the bullet when you said "larger"?

EDIT:Google is your friend.I just checked and find that Pcshogun IS correct. The Makarov utilizies a .364 diameter bullet and the 9mm parabellum uses a .356 diameter bullet.Amazing what you can learn from those who know their stuff like Pcshogun.I like adding knowledge like that to my meager brain archives.
