Ever just get an itch to try something new?

I dunno, I just have a hankering to try something else. Maybe just a .45, like a 21sf, or FN 45. Kinda would like to try a 1911. Would have to sell mine, or trade it. Anyone else ever trade "just because"? How'd it work out for ya? I am tempted to say if it aint broke leave it well enough alone, but I dunno....

if you get an FNP-45, you won't be disappointed. that's how i got my first FNP-45, i traded a few snakes for it. got hooked on FN after that. a nice 1911 would be sweet too...

This is also how I roll. Have I given up some good guns? Yes. Do I regret it? Sometimes, but it doesn't matter. I think it's far better have guns that you shoot than to have guns that are neat/cool/interesting/collectible. Unless you like to shoot them.

What are you looking at trading, and what are you looking to get?

Well, I have a G17 for my do everything gun right now. I would have to trade it, cause I can't afford to buy another out right. And I dunno, a 1911, but thats not going to happen unless someone REALLY wants my Glock. I think a 21 sf, or another .45 maybe....

I have done that Mitch and, truthfully, always traded back or sold it. It never worked for me but it might for the next person.

I have what works and I'm sticking with it.

I think of 1911s as competition guns. I wouldn't trade the G17 for a 1911 unless I got a great deal, but I would trade a G17 for a G21. I had the option this spring to buy a 1911 or a G21, and I got a nice 1911. Frankly, if I don't end up using it to shoot fast in a match, it's getting sold. And I love the 1911, but it irks me to have a nice paperweight versus a useful gun.
Burk, I think you and I have some pistols in common. Do you shoot a 1911 in competition? Is it better than the G26?

Mitch, I love the 1911 platform. I shoot it at some matches cause its what I carry. The G26 is a different animal so I shoot it more often. I will probably always have both....and my J frame

I have a 17, a 21SF and I've had several 1911's. FWIW, I would not get rid of my 17 for any of the others mentioned. Save your pennies and get another one outright if you're bored.
