Does $ run your life?

Currently i work for a large company that has good benefits and OK pay.
Lately these OT hrs have been killing me, 13days straight then 1 to spend with family. This has been going on for 3yrs.

With not chance of advancement in the Co, i am starting to looks else were. But id love to stay local, grew up here and all family are rooted here.

Im not driven by my income, id be happy if i could spend time with family and friends, instead of making all this OT.

Most of these local business wont hire me cause they see my college degrees and think i want big money. They just dont see i just want a job i can enjoy and spend off time enjoying life, family and friends.

anyway just had to rant as i apply for some Jobs

Good to see you have your priorities in order. Enough to get by is enough. Maybe you should tone down your resume, only including what is relevant to the job for which you are applying.

I don't mind OT however money doesn't run my life. I had my own business for a little over 15 years and OT was the norm, However I did fairly well dividing between work family and my other occupation/hobby.

I have worked the 13 days without a day off...it sucks. A person should not have to work like that...

But, now I am retired...That lasted 3 weeks...then I started looking for a part time job...Not really for the money...Just wanted to keep busy...

I love what I do now. I wish I would have had this job all my life...

Good luck with yyour looking. I know it can be a pain sometimes...
