We have cox but the bill has gone up substantially because of rate hikes. I was interested in Direct TV and they have a bundle as well. What are your thoughts? Pros/Cons. Thanks the Dr.

We have direct tv, and have for many years. We have been happy with the service. We rarely have any weather related problems.

I have cox and directv at home. I use cox A's my primary. Directv is hooked up in the dry fire football room. I usually get the NFL Sunday ticket with it so I can watch the packers win championships. I suspend my service from February through September. I've had issues with their customer service people on the phone being idiots but no more idiots than any other call center dipshit from "you name it company"

we've had DirecTV for a while. it used to go out during EVERY storm. pretty scary when you are trying to find out where the tornado's are. we upgraded to an HD system and they had to replace our dish. when they came to do it, they said our old dish was installed in a terrible place (they use crappy contractors). they put the new dish in a different spot and we have had no issues since. we do, however have issues with our DVR/box. it get so slow sometimes and lags when going through the guide or list of shows we have recorded. we have called and called about this and nothing has been done yet. it's pretty aggravating, but not a deal breaker yet. we have tried to go with Cox, but they were way too expensive compared to what we get from DirecTV...

I had a lazy idiot installer drill holes through my GD roof on the first install. I was pisses but it was too late once I saw it. Font let those dicks be too scared to clump their SSS up on the roof or whatever it takes to do it right.

On our upgrade to HD the installer did the same thing. He put holes in the roof, with no sealer, etc.
I was gone on the install but when getting home, I called DTV, got their email, and sent pics.
They paid for a contractor to come out, remove the dish, properly install it, and repair the roof.

Note to all! When the installer gets there, remember they are independant contractors. the more installs, the more money they make.
If your roof leaks later, they don't care.
