People are always giving me funny looks! <_<

It really cuts down on time spent picking up brass. :)

This is what it is: http://www.elmfg.com/store/univbc.html

Interesting. How much can it contain? Do you have to empty after 100 rounds or so?

I would like it for plinking or benchrest shooting. But for action shooting, why put on the extra weight? I'd rather pick up some brass or sacrifice the match brass.

Until I'm good enough that hundredths of seconds matter, I'm not going to worry about it. ;)

I really don't notice any extra weight when shooting matches because I always empty it out between each stage and the box itself doesn't weigh much at all.

Or maybe I'm just super strong. B)

Off topic: I'll see you tomorrow Taymoor. You better bring your A game!

When I first saw your brass catcher I wanted to give you a wedgy and a noogy. It may be handy at the bench rest range but it's not doing you any good at a 3 gun match. Sorry but there is no easy way to put it. I say this with love and affection and several drinks.

This reminds me of Taymoor's first 3 gun match. He was wearing an ultra Tacticiol thigh rig triple AR mag pouch deal. The only thing it lacked was a Masingil holder. He walked up to me and Chambers (maybe) and said, "guys, I don't see anyone else wearing a sweat AR mag pouch thigh rig. Is this thing GAY?". I looked at Chamber or whomever it was and we both looked each other them back at Tay and shook our heads yes. Then we all had a good laugh together.

As my boy GI Joe said, "knowing is half the battle"

Maybe someday I'll stop using my brass catcher but it's like a pacifier! I need it!

What is a Masingil holder? I searched google and this was the first image result:

Sorry I misspelled it. It's Massengill.

Seriously though it isn't a bad thing for collecting your brass but when you take longer to unload and show clear and/or load your guns to start it causes everyone else to say "WTF". Plus in 3 gun we toss guns into barrels and on tables and anything additional to the gun that's not needed is a liability. Meaning that it can get hung up in a port, on the lip of a barrel, in a doorway. All of those can cause your muzzle to break the 180 or your rifle to hit the deck leading to a DQ.

I'm not try to be a dick here just being Frank or Jesse or whomever I need to be to help u out. I'm excited ad hell that you just shot your first match last month and you jumped in to get some mire action so soon. We need more guys with your desire and enthusiasm.

Well when you put it that way... I guess I could sacrifice some brass.

Just stay after the match and pick up what everyone is just leaving behind... I think Taymoor and I picked up 300+ cases quickly sweeping over 2 ranges at the end of the day.

P.S. Taymoor thought his ATAS vest and drop leg holster and mag pouches were awesome. Then we went to the Pawnee range and a couple bumpkins were out there with the same get-ups sporting Dracos and other various goober guns. It was at that moment he saw the light.

I still wear my lightwight tac vest on occassion. But it holds my staples, staple gun, banner/ribbon, hatchet, water bottles, cell phone and map while I do trail maintence at my local riding area. Never thought about using it at a match or range. ;)

to add.....it also makes it difficult to diagnose any malfunctions during your run.
