I bought a couple Dawson 2011 +1 basepads recently.

Compared to my older +1 basepads, the new basepads installed result in a magazine about 3/16" shorter. They also hold one less round.

Is this the new normal or did I order or receive the wrong ones?

Thanks.

You are onto something.

I rummaged around and found an old SNL basepad and its identical to the two new ones,

I checked the package again. Looks like Dawson got some SNL's mixed up with +1 basepads.

Thanks.

SNL should be longer than plain +1's

Now I'm confused.

I always thought the SNL were +0 and usually (but not always) legal on a 170 mm magazine.

Dawson also offered the +1 (it made for a slightly longer magazine) and +2 (longer still).

From old stock, I have the SNL on a legal bigstick, several +1's on 140 magazines and several +2's on 140 magazines.

The two new ones align perfectly with the old SNL. I should've thought to compare them before I posted.

SNL=Sometimes not legal, as in a bit longer than the std +1
So, depending if your mags are a bit long the SNL's will make them not fit the 140/170 gage.
