D-Day carry gun

I thought it only appropriate that on this day that I carry the venerable 1911. Although the gun that we carry today is modified, the basic John Moses Browning design is what our soldiers carried 70 years ago onto the beaches of Normandy.

Very appropriate there Burk. My job doesn't allow firearms (federal property) or else I would be sporting my 1911 today as well.
 
Never thought about carrying the 1911 in remembrance of D-Day.
I did spend part of the day at my VFW post where we honored our veterans of WWII, Korean War and Vietnam.
There were static displays of equipment, guns, and captured war trophy's. Several of the local WWII vets were in attendance to tell their story's.
Great event!
