Its not a quick process, and with the current situation, it may take a little longer.
I've had mine since the get go, but if I remember, after a certain period of time, you can call the OSBI and request a time line.
It should be included in the information they sent you when you applied.

I just took the class in Nov and they said not to bug the OSBI till after 90 days, so I would call on day 91. I still have to get by the Sheriff's office. Dang Custer county Sheriffs only do SDA permits on Tuesdays from 1-4 pm, and I have to be at work at 2pm with the county seat 30 min away in Arapaho.

Since I've gotten mine, I've never noticed any consistency on how long it takes. Two people can apply at the same time and get markedly different results.
Just recently my wife and I sent in our renewals, sent at the same time - one came back quicker.
