I've been working on my reloads - Got a suggestion from TroyF to get my pistol higher and been working on that.

Any other suggestions?

Quit crouching so much when you draw. Stay loose and you will always be faster. Tight muscles are slow muscles.

The only thing I see wrong with the reload is that you missed grabbing the magazine correctly on 2 out of 3. Your hands aren't small so the tip of your index finger should almost be touching the tip of the bullet. The base pad of the mag should be firmly in the middle of your palm.

Gotcha.

Yea I missed the first one. Actually the last was a good grab when I did frame by frame. I'll work on indexing the mag higher. Hopefully I'll get my holster this week and I can get more loose and in the groove.

Damn - can't work on fixing everything at once LOL - I was given a tip to put a white dot on the inside magwell and look at that point - thoughts?

I'll get it sooner or later - the perks from working from home - get 10-20 reload strings in and then do some work for an hour or two then get a few more in...

I took a paint pen and painted the entire strong hand side of the inside of the magwell white.

Keep that left eye open too!

Again - gotta work on one thing at a time JT lol. Thankfully the inside of the M&P magwell has a white circle logo on the under side that I have been focusing on....

Practice, Practice, Practice is the plan....

Phil said something about no painting the inside of your magwell in Production class. But the biggest concern is "What no backwards hat?"

That is ture but if you have an add on magwell you are no longer in production.

IMO your moving way too much. Your whole body is moving during the reload and the gun is waving aroung. That excess movement effects consistentcy.

1. Work burkett reloads for mag indexing and magwell entry.
2. The biggest thing for me is my focus on the magwell
3. Try to keep that upperbody and gun still, harder to hit a moving target

Dang - I was hoping for some critique from you Chris....

Everybody is bringing up good points. You are moving your body alot, and definately need to index the mag in your hand a bit better. Get the gun higher like Troy was saying and "look" the magazine into the magwell.

Optimum position for your gun is going to be different for everyone based on body type, arm length etc. But universally everyone should laser focused to a spot inside the magwell to get the magazine where you need it to be. I trained my reloads like this...

1. Practice getting perfect grabs on you magazine with it indexed in the way everyone is describing.

2. Once you have that dialed, close your eyes and move the magazine up at about medium speed with no gun.

3. Open your eyes and see the path that the magazine is on when you arent worried about hitting the gun, just moving where your arm naturally wants to, that is where you are going to immediately be most comfortable, and be able to repeatably get the magazine to right off the bat. It is like free muscle memory. (This helped me alot)

4. Work on positioning the gun to that point once you drop the magazine (high enough in the next magazines path that you get a good look into the magwell). For me I bring the gun in a little, keeping it high, then push back out to the target while regripping the gun when the mag is in.

5. This is probably most important. Think Fast, Slow, Fast. Get your hand to the mag and get it headed towards the gun as quickly as possible. As you start to reach the magwell SLOW DOWN and insure that you have perfect insertion. Then hit the gas again and slam it home and push the gun back out to the target.

6. Do all of this stuff slow at first, until everything is PERFECT. Then ramp up the speed and practice 2-3 million times. :)

Dude this could be made into a sticky all by itself! That was phenomenal Chris!

Thanks Chris - I'm literally printing that out and will make it a point to get myself to where you are - you are a machine....

biggest thing is all the movement. you are dipping to the left and down after you drop the mag. and getting the gun too low.
