He who does not have spare 1911 firing pin is doomed to not shoot demos during In-Service firearms class. What spare parts to you think are mandatory to keep on hand?

So let's work toward compiling a list of mandatroy spare parts to keep on hand for the common guns (1911, Glock, M&P, AR15, etc). We get some good lists going and I'll find a good place to sticky the lists. So everyone pull your thinking boonies on, and send me your lists.

M&P

1) Spare striker assembly
2) Trigger return spring (Glock spring will work in a pinch)

3) Mass qty's of fiber optic rod (if that's what you run up front)

For my Glock, I keep the following extra parts in my range bag.

Frame, complete
Slide, complete

and both of them pre-assembled into a convenient package.....

Yea,

Trigger return sping,
Extra slide release ( the only part I've ever had break on a glock)
extra pin set
extractor
recoil spring
Slide stop spring
ect.

There ya have it ladies and gentlemen, a thread about what spares do we need, and our resident gunsmith is making wee wee jokes! Lol. Come on Mike, give us some gun wisdom.

Confucius say man with hole in pocket feel cocky all day.
Confucius say man who walk through airport turnstile sideways....going to bangcock.

You wouldn't believe how many people I run across that don't even have oil in their rangebag......if they even have a range bag.

I found out this weekend how valueable a squib rod is too. :D

I've sticky-ed a topic over in the Handgun section on this very topic. Could prove useful to folks. I'm shutting this badboy down for housecleaning purposes.
