Come on out shoot those guns you actually carry!! We will have six stages with a round count of less than 100. In addition, all targets will have clothing on them to make it a little more realistic.

Don't forget, it is ALWAYS 69 degrees on the range!! :)

cbr,
We do a Carry match here in Miss'ippi, but usually limit the shot count to 5 shots with 5 strings per stage (so that no reloading is done on the clock for those shooting 5-shot revolvers). We have also only used the steel targets from Steel Challenge. I'd really like to see your stages if you could post them or send them to me in an email.

I pointed out the "unrealistic" targets at the last Carry match and the MD said, "If you come up with something different then we will shoot it."

I do not personally have any more videos of match stages. If anyone else does please post or PM me or the OP.

The Match Director typically puts on a six stage match. Stage round count below 18. Majority of stages have targets at close range, but mixed with some longer distance so you're forced to use the bump at the front of the barrel. IDPA targets and scoring is used. IDPA rules not used. Concessions provided in round count and/or shots on target for those with low capacity mags or limited number of mags. Cannot remember the last time there was a revolver shooter.

Foremost reason for the match is to get folks to shoot the gun they carry, period.

I totally agree with this.
This type of match is always popular and a lot of people have walked away after the match shaking their head because their carry gun malfunctioned repeatedly.
We "allow" people to shoot whatever they bring ( in a separate division ). Last month's winner was an A class shooter with their Open gun........big surprise
