I own a Toyota Tundra with compartments in the ceiling between the driver and passenger. Is it legal to carry my pistol in these compartments. They latch but they do not lock. My G19 fits perfectly in the compartment and is at my reach without having to reach across the seat to the glove box. The muzzle faces the windshield when the compartment is closed, and it is a snug enough fit the gun doesn't move around. If the compartment were to swing open accidently, the gun will not fall out, because of the way the door supports the gun. The center console is the best location, but the lid wont close with my pistol in the compartment.

I agree with the others.

Not sure how to tell if this is the latest or not.

(9) a person in a vehicle if the handgun is secured in a closed glove compartment, closed console, closed trunk, or in a closed container secured by an integral fastener and transported in the luggage compartment of the vehicle; however, this item is not violated if the glove compartment, console, or trunk is opened in the presence of a law enforcement officer for the sole purpose of retrieving a driver?s license, registration, or proof of insurance;

I honestly don't see why that would be a problem

I'm no attorney but I would consider that to be meeting the criteria allowed by law
