Fear the Duck
The north wind was in my favour today on the pond. Took this hat-trick of bass on a black bunny leech in 4-6 ft. Bit tricky in the canoe, so I tied up to a snag and simply cast down wind.

Damm! I love fly fishing from my canoe as well. 
Have a 16' Lowe with a square stern. I mount a .55 lb thrust Minn Kota for a little "extra" help up in the creeks
When Kaw floods in the spring, paddling through the timber is like going through an obstacle course. I'll hang drop lines from the limbs of trees that are normally 15' above the water.
