OK, here is the deal i have been with cox for about 8 years and i wanted to turn off cable for 2.5 months between basketball and football season and they pulled the whole well if you turn it off then we will charge you "installation fees" to start it back up.. seriously... anyways, any other places that would be cool with me using their service for about 9 months of the year?? i am not going to pay for it when i don't ever turn it on....

I'd see if you can watch it online. All of the services I know will charge you to connect or disconnect. You could always down grade to the lowest package during the off season.

This is your best option. To get it back no appt., no waiting, just a phone call & done.

Ask for a seasonal disconnect. I do them all the time for cox they trap out your tv service then when you come "home" we turn it back on

DirecTV will let u suspend your account for 6 months or so per year. I do that with mine as I only need it for NFL Sunday ticket.

really, because the guy on the phone wouldn't do that.... i am not going to "downgrade" my service for 3 months if i am not watching it at all...
