Buying my first fullsize

Hey folks, just found this forum and I'm glad I did! I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice.

I am buying my first full size firearms for carry- partly because of Oklahoma's pending Open Carry, but more so because winter will allow me to carry a larger gun concealed.

I have been reading and researching for months without being able to make a decision.

Before I say the ones I'm most considering, let me say what's most important about the gun I choose:
- 4" barrel
- no manual safety
- .40 S&W
- accurate, reliable.

I have not yet been able to shoot some of these firearms, but what I'm considering are:

- Sig Sauer SP2022
- M&P .40 Full Size
- Beretta PX4 type G or C (no safety),
- CZ 75 P07,
- SD40VE

Im also open to any other options I've not mentioned, but which meet the requirements... i really appreciate the help, this has been 2 months of reading and still not settled.

get a 9mm

any reason you have to get a 40 other than "I am a police officer" or "I am shooting Limited" is probably wrong.

more rounds + cheaper practice + faster followup shots > marginal increase in terminal performance

but you won't listen to that so get a glock 22 or m&p 40

If you live close to the Moore area I have three different M&P's that you could shoot if you wanted to meet somewhere. Fullsize 40, 40L, and 9mm Pro Series.

Try to shoot each on your list before you make your choice.
You should be able to rent most, if not all of these at H&H to spend some trigger time with.

I am also surprised by the near ubiquitous support of the M&P!

I consider 4" full size, I guess the gun manufacturers would consider that compact. The 4.25" M&P is called full size.

I do not want a Glock for several reasons; chiefly because I would need to buy an after-market barrel to shoot reloads... and by the time I spent all that money I could get the M&P with a grip angle I truly prefer, and some accessories.

Why. 40? I carry a sub-compact 9mm, and so I think shooting a .40 out of a larger platform would be fine for me. I do like the larger diameter and foot-pounds of the .40. Part of me says to just get a 9mm since it has so many, albeit different, things going for it.

I really want to express again how impressed I am with the number of responses you have given. Thanks you so much.
