Built a 3D model of my 550 for CAD Class

Some of you guys may find this interesting. For the final project in my Industrial CAD class, I disassembled my 550, measured every part dimension imaginable with calipers, then built a 3D model in solidworks. Here's a short video.

I've just seen this now, and I must say, this is definitely impressive!

That's awesome. I've done scan based reverse engineering as well as general CAD design for various holster companies for a couple years. CAD is alot of fun and rewarding once you start seeing results. CAM programming and CNC is fun too, but I really enjoy design.
