some people say fire a shot, clean it. fire a shot clean it. then start going on 3-5 shots before cleaning it for the first 50 rounds.

My BCM barrel came with strict instructions to just shoot the damn thing.

Hope that helps

I would go with BCMs advice and just put some rounds through it.

You could clean every other round if you really wanted to, but it's not necessary.

I bought a custom upper in .243WSSM before obama. The guy told me it had to get 200 rounds down the pipe for break in. At more than a dollar a shot, I went ahead and did it. Cleaned with a bore snake after every third shot. It started out as a tack driver, and ended up the same. It didn't need any break in.
Just shoot yours and be done with it.

Throw it down on some gravel. Kick it a across some dirt. Pick it up, and shoot it. That is all. Break-ins are for suckers.

Shoot it. I broke in My Satern barrel in my LOKI with some high quality Tula ammo. I want to make sure it's ready for the good stuff.
