bluray player, $50

Samsung model BD-D5700.

Wife and I have used it mostly for Netflix, but it's kinda slow. Plays discs just fine! We've had it since late November 2011.

Edit: I'm in the Upstate of SC, in Greer, but I could definitely travel as far as Northern Anderson, Easley side of Pickens, Lyman side of Spartanburg, Blue Ridge area. If further, maybe we could work out some sort of deal?

I'm Blue-Ray illiterate; does it play regular DVDs?

It most certainly does! If you have a higher definition tv, it'll "up-convert" your DVD picture to better suit your view pleasure, if you have an HDMI cable. Most Bluray players do DVD up-converting.

I wish the Mod's would fix the forum so that you have to enter your location to register, and it would show on every post. most gun stuff is FTF, anyways.

where are you? we have been buying BD for home use, but now, we set up an old TV (circa 1996) & DVD player (circa 2000) upstairs, and it's annoying, because you can't play the new BD you just bought on it

if you are local, i would like to grab it.

ms Carson: a BD will play anything, and if you have a "good" flat panel, a BD will usually make it look GREAT.
most Disney movies come in a 3 pack now: DVD, BD, and digital copy, and it is cheaper than buying the DVD
