When I started competitive shooting (and I mean at my first ever match) Billy Smith was the chief range officer for my squad.
He had to show and/or tell me everything. I attribute my continued participation to my experience that day.
When I took my first formal shooting class, Billy was an instructor.
Lessons learned in both of the events listed above have stuck with me throughout my experience as a handgun shooter.
In fact, I still learn something from Billy everytime I shoot with him.
We are now team-mates on the Crossbones LLC Shooting Team, even though I am merely a fraction of the shooter he is.
As I said, Billy Smith is an awesome shooter, but he is an even better teacher.
Below, you will find details about a class that Billy will be teaching this summer.
This is a level one class and is NOT a competition specific class.
This is a fantastic value. It's the best $295 you could hope to spend on your shooting career.
You could easily blow $300+ on ammo and not learn anything!
This is $100-$200 cheaper than any of the 'big name' shooting schools, and it will be a better experience.
This class has The Antichrome seal of approval.
This course is designed for both competition shooters, as well as concealed carry people or anyone who wants to become more proficient, more comfortable, with a handgun.
The course will cover a lot of basics, as well as beyond basics. Including grip, stance, draw, trigger control, target acquisition, target transition, target selection, breathing, reloading, sights, and a lot of other stuff.
Course description and requirements:
DATES: June 9 and 10
LOCATION: Old Fort Gun Club, River Range, outside of Barling, Arkansas.
TIMES: Saturday sign in at 0730, the Saturday course will last until around 1700. Sunday, start at 0730, until around 1600 to 1700.
EQUIPMENT: Center fire handgun of your choice. Holster that covers the trigger guard. Three to four extra magazines or speed loaders.
AMMO: Plan on 1,000 rounds of ammunition. Billy can acquire popular handgun ammo for purchase at a very reasonable price, but you must order in advance of the course. He will have your ammo at the initial sign in.
OTHER STUFF: Eyes and Ears, hat, sun screen, water and/or sports drinks.
COST: Billy is offering his courses for a mere $295 for the two day course.

His training experience includes law enforcement, military and civilian. Billy just returned from two weeks in New Mexico, training a group of British Royal Marine Commandos. His training credentials include CIA, FBI, Secret Service, Special Forces, Navy SEALS, and some other people...
