Specifically the 77gr OTM 22101. I've never loaded any Berger bullet, always use Sierra 77gr SMK for my long range needs but prices and availability are forcing me to seek alternatives. I can't find a single online resource for Bergers specifically. I've read that the Bergers are longer than the SMKs and occupy more case seemingly requiring a lower charge than a comparable bullet.

For bullets that are so near & Berger having a shorter nose I do not think powder space to be a factor.
Having shot thousands of Sierra #2200 168gr BTHP Match bullets I saw no other shooters using Bergers
too costly, & made for BR shooters. That's with open sights using SA M-14 match rifles NMC course.

I shoot the 77gr SMK .224 bullets in my 1-7" twist Colt ARs

Bergers 30 cal. 175gr https://bergerbullets.com/product/30-caliber-175-grain-otm-tactical/
I use this Burger bullet in my Remington 700 26" Hvy. bbl .7.62x51 at 2750 using IMR 4064 powder.
It beats Federal 175 BTHP with tighter groups at long range past 300 yards.

155gr Hybrid is right on the line for stability at 2650 fps where as the 175gr OT
has a comfortable lead at 2650fps over the 155gr H.

Do you know something I do not? I ran the test results at 2900 for the 155gr &
only gained a small amount of stability at that velocity.

Always looking for better long range bullets.
Anyone tried the Sierra Polycarb nose Matchkings?

I most assuredly don't know something you don't. :)

Just getting some components to get started with.

The thing that appealed to me about the Berger 155gr hybrids was twofold:
1) reputation for not being jump sensitive and that sounds good since I'l be magazine length-restricted with my AR-10.
2) they were in stock when I was looking.....so I jumped on 'em.

I also have some Sierra MatchKings of different weights to try, too.

Gonna have a ball getting dialed in with different guns.

That 155gr Berger is a great little bullet but you must drive it hard unlike say the 168 BTHP @ 2650fps all day long.
A 1-11' or a 1-12" twist would be great, a 1-10" is better for heavy .308 bullets 175 BTHP is my new favorite over
the 168gr BTHP just better at longer range.
