I know that many of you run Benalli shotguns, so here are some questions for you.

Which one is recommended?

What are the strengths and weaknesses of each model?

How is the Model 1 different from the Model 2? And how are they different from the Super Black Eagle?

Please make me wise on this.

Check out the shotguns section under guns, gear, etc. There are a couple of threads over there about M1 vs M2. (Seems that there isn't a whole lot of difference besides price and felt recoil but I've never shot either one) No idea about vs the SBE, however I am interested in finding out as I am considering a SBE for bird hunting in the future.

I feel like we've beat the "what shotgun for 3 gun" topic to death more than any forum on the internet.

Here was the last thread:

Here's Jesse's "what to do to it" thread:

http://www.boomershooter.com/forums/index.php/topic/611-how-to-setup-your-benelli-m1-m2-for-3-gun/

There's a lot more threads in the regular shotgun section, too.

The M2 has an updated stock (comfortech) over the M1 and they both have 3" chambers. I believe the internals are pretty much the same. The SBE handles 3.5" shells.

If it hurts to buy a 1300 shotgun like the M2, then look for a M1 on gunbroker for under a grand.

I run a M1, and I have no disadvantage over the M2, other than the ability to swap butt pads to adjust the pull. Im finding I want a longer sg lately.

The SBE is longer and heavier than the M1/2, and can utilize 3 1/2" shells, for killing larger game birds at longer distances. That said, I use one for competition only, because I got what was possibly the best gun deal of a lifetime. In that most shotguns are pump-action, and can be loaded anytime, it's has taken a lot of practice for me to get used to the Benelli operation. You have to load on a closed bolt. Period. Otherwise they're amazing.

Mitch, theres this thing called a ejection port, and its not just a one way street. ;)

whats that? Is it Persian for " I have nothing to add to the conversation"?

:))

I've been running an SBE for a little over a year now, ain't nothing wrong with it, it's noticeably heavier but it has a huge loading port. And it has a mid bead which is kickin' rad.
