Got home this morning from three days hanging out in Ft Lauderdale and then a 10 day cruise to the Southern Caribbean.
Spent the entire time unarmed without even a pocketknife and it was un-nerving to say the least.
What was supposed to be a total of 6 hours of flights on the day of departure to Tulsa and another 2 hr drive home turned out to be a 16 hour day on Monday, getting into Tulsa after baggage claim at11:30 pm. Made a transfer to a hotel getting there by finally 1am.
Up and on the road by 8 getting home at 10 am, only to drop off the wife and luggage so I could head to the VA for an appointment at 1Pm. Another 2 hr drive.
Didn't end up getting out of the VA until 7pm tonight, with another 2 hour drive to get home an hour ago.
A very healthy double shot of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked sits at my side with a single ice cube to anneal it.
It's all good now.

Flying used to be fun. Kind of a party in the sky, but public attitudes have changed, so consequently the flight attendant's attitudes have changed, and now with all the security issues and so on, it's not fun anymore.
