After the close of the comment period, ATF will process the comments received, further evaluate the issues raised therein, and provide additional open and transparent process (for example, through additional proposals and opportunities for comment) before proceeding with any framework.

I'm wondering if they won't fix their problem by banning pistols capable of firing armor piercing rounds (AR pistols).

id say there are too many. arent there AK pistols? and, im sorry i forgot your name, at shootzenfest the 300 mag pistol would be on the list.

From what I understand, the "greentip" equivalent (steel core) 7.62x39, 5.45x39, and 7.62x51 (.308) has already been banned. ATF claims 5.56 pistols were not available at the time so they exempted M855. The recent attept was to redact the exemption. It categorically exempts single shot pistols; otherwise the Thompson Contenders would get all rifle calibers banned.
