Are all roll pins created equal?

Hello, this is my first post here. Great forum by the way.

I am looking to get some roll pins as replacement/backups for some of my guns. For example, my xd takes a m3x16 pin. Are the ones at Ace hardware poorer quality than the ones from Pistol Gear or somewhere like that?

Thanks in advance,

Trevor

Roll pins are all made from hardened steel spring steel, they vary in length and you will find out that most roll pins available locally are not long enough for most (but not all) gun uses.

Measure the width of your receivers before buying spare parts.

On some guns it is required that roll pins be replaced when removal is necessary if the gun is to be used for self protection.

Brownells sells a roll pin box that has 99% of all the roll pins you will ever need.

If you are asking about the roll pin that holds the striker and goes through the top of the slide to the bottom,
thats a tapered roll pin. Best to get that one from pistol gear.
