A buddy is offering me a Surplus Arms milspec lower, palmetto state parts kit with buffer, buffer tube, ave collapsable stock for 300. I am wanting to attemp my first AR build since I can't buy one. Is that a good price?

PSA lower build kits go for about 120 with FCG. SSA lowers USED to run 65-75. You could get a kit from PSA and a polymer lower for less than 200.

Take that for what it's worth...

I am new to piecing together an AR. With the current demand I am willing to accept a fairly inflated price. How hard is it to find uppers, barrels, and hand guards right now?

Hardest thing to find is going to be a bolt carrier. Midway had some AR Stoner ones earlier today but they may be sold out by now. The way lowers are starting to show back up I would think things might be catching back up pretty soon (3-6 months).

Thanks guys, I think I am going to pull the trigger on this. Price is a little high but the guy has built a few ars that rUN great and is going yo help me build the lower.

I'll have a few JP's tomorrow

I've purchased from PSA, Core 15, Midway, Mounting Solutions Plus, and AeorPrecision lately and while the pricing isn't pre nutz on all of it, you can still build a decent gun below 1K.

Not to be blasphemous and recommend other places, but ar15.com has dedicated equipment Exchange threads for anything you could imagine, both new and used, as well as threads dedicated to manufacturers complete assy's. I have three builds going and check there, slickguns, and gunbroker daily and only pull the trigger if it's a good/great deal.

OSA has the occasional good deal, armslist I can't bring myself to click on every again.

Okay so I am buying the kit and confirmed today it has a trigger group and bcg. Since this is my first build is there any legal issues I need to know about before I assemble it.
