AR-15 Measurements

I'm looking for a backpack I can fit an AR-15 into when I break it down into both receivers.

Does anyone know how long an upper is with a 16" barrel w/flash hider? This will be the standard I will measure a backpack to fit the rifle.

My Ruger SR-556 upper is 25".

Thanks Lucky!! This will be an SBR soon so I may just look for one with a compartment size of 20".

My 7.5" upper with a Spike's Dynacomp is 16.5" total.

The Targus Backpack can almost fit my 16" Ruger upper (25" total) diagonally. All that sticks out is the flash-hider.

My SBR will have a 10.5" barrel w/YHM Q.D. flash hider.

That should fit in the backpack I linked.

I plan on being at the OKCGC next weekend. Maybe you can look at my backpack then.

ETA: Eberlestock has some backpacks made to hold an assembled gun.

I may be able to come out and hang for a little bit but I won't be able to participate. My work schedule requires me to work from 4-midnight.

Don't be a wuss. I've come to 3 gun matches after working 7pm to 7am on several occasions. Driving straight from work to the match then getting home for 2 hours of sleep to go back for another 12 hour night shift.
