Anyone use a Lee Handloader?

Sone on gave me one of these in 308, cause they knew i was collecting my brass

He said he has this for years and never used it

Can some one school me using this?

everyone should have one for their main rifle and handgun packed in your bug-out bag
my bug-out bag contains a LEE LOADER for 44mag because my survival rifle and handgun are both 44Mags.

When I first started reloading I had one of the Lee Loaders in .38Sp, not sure how many rounds I loaded with that thing but it works and kept my then collection of .38 snubbies shooting when I was too broke/poor to purchase factory ammo. Its a very slow process, takes some practice, but once you get the hang of loading with a mallet it gets the job done.

How many times can brass be reloaded with this tool? Also, isn't it basically for pistol calibers?

I purchased a rubber mallet recently with this in mind, but the components and shipping charges are outrageous. Its cheaper to buy factory range quality ammo. My milsurp ammo is even cheaper.

Because I cast or swage almost all my bullets I only have to buy primers and powder and bullets for a few calibers. I buy from Grafs and when I buy powder or primers I try to buy with a few other guys to help defray the cost of hazmat and shipping. and Grafs shipping is only $5 per package

45 brass is rated for 1000 loadings. not really but id swear i have some with a hundred. ok 25. they take a beating.

i use a taper crimp die though.

oops, thats my press, dont know what hand loader does to them.

Dies are hard on brass, moderate to max loads are hard on brass, semi auto's are hard on brass, not all brass is made equal... so not really sure if one can put a life on how long brass will last when reloading.

For range ammo I use cast bullets (no Glocks in my house) in .380, 9mm .44Sp and .44Mag and load mid range on loading charts, so my brass last a good long time.
