Anyone have the CMMG dedicated .22lr upper?

I say spend the extra money and get in on the Nordic upper group buy we have going on. It even comes with a magazine.

Just do the group buy for a Nordic Components with us. We need 2 more and the price is very close and you get a mag. There are also more choices with barrel length and finish.

I had a CMMG conversion and it was good but not great. It would not run with my competition trigger. I sold it and upgraded to the Notdic upper. Those guys are aluminum CNC machining gods. From their shotgun goodies to the aircraft parts the build in their non gun side. I think if you hear and felt how tight the Nordic upper is your choice would be easy to make.

Hell Nordic already makes the AR kit for Rugers SR22. They are making a dedicated upper for Remington. I think that says a lot about their products if the big boys will rebranding their stuff. Plus we need two more guys on the Nordic group buy;)

+1. The Nordic is the ULTIMATE .22lr.

Advantages over the CMMG, besides the ones already mentioned, are:

- Free float handguard standard
- Get it in the barrel length you want...16", 18" or 20"

Plus the group buy price is outstanding! PM Jesse for more info.

The ten round magazine that comes with the Nordic upper is easily turned into a slightly higher cap mag with a little dremel or file work;)

Thanks for the info. My brother-in-law is the one thinking about getting the cmmg dedicated upper. I'll have him check out the nordic website.

I have an M&P 15-22 that I use for plinking. If I had extra money right now I'd think about one for myself, but I'm already in on the ammo group buy, so that's taking up any on hand cash for now.

My CMMG dedicated upper should be here by Wednesday. If your in Tulsa area we can try
To hook up and you can check it.
If $$$ wasn't a prob i would have got the Spikes with the target barrel and a whole slew of other options they offer.

Just wondering if any of you have any experience with the new CMMG dedicated .22lr upper?

Here's a link to one of them.

At $349, it doesn't seem bad, does not include a magazine though.

I have one. I think I paid about the same but it came with 1 mag and I bought one extra mag. I also added rear iron sight. Mags are tight, may need a little sanding. Haven't shot it yet. When I get a chance I'll report back.

Put about 100 cci's through the cmmg upper this evening. Don't have experience with other options but was very happy with my cmmg 22 upper. Didn't put targets up but was beer bottle accurate with iron sights. I did have 1 fail to fire but no other issues other than the very tight mags. I think I'll explore sighting options. It was a fun shooter and will be going out more along with the Buck Mark.

Was your 1 FTF during rapid fire, like running through a mag as fast as you could? I'll have to talk to my brother-in-law to see what he decided on getting.

The FTF was the first round of the 3rd mag. Pulled charging handle and finished mag. Thinking maybe bolt was fully forward? Never fired it as fast as I could. Mostly 2-3 rounds steady but not as fast as I could go.

Hey Rawhide, the CMMG mags have 2 little tabs on theback of the mags that are for fitment of the mags. 1 swipe of the file on each of them and the mags fit perfect for me.
