Any pistol matches around the OKC area next Saturday?

Me and my shooting partner would like to start shooting some local pistol matches. We are PRS shooters and have never shot an actual pistol match. We don't really even know what discipline we'd like to shoot (probably not IDPA....looks like lots of odd rules). We just want to see what each one is about. Will there be any matches around the OKC area next Saturday (9th)?

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

USPSA is the first Saturday of the month at okcgc.

Next Saturday will be the Ponca City match. You can follow someone up there. A lot of us will be there.

Guys, I'm down in Ardmore. Ponca is over a 3hr drive. If I can talk my shooting partner into coming, we may drive up. If not, we will probably go over to the Steel Challenge match in Duncan. It's only about an hour from us. It sounds like a very small low key match and may not be what we are looking for, but it's a start.

Steel challenge is a great way to ease into shooting matches. It's fun to shoot too, you can even shoot a couple of divisions at a lot of matches. Rim fire is very popular. That said the Ponca is a great match and they'll welcome you as will most every USPSA club that I've been to in Oklahoma.

FYI, if you are thinking about coming to Ponca this Saturday, don't. The match for Jan has been cancelled. We wouldn't want you to make that drive and no one be there.
