I kmow theses guns dont have a big following here but just wondered if you guys think this is really just a Russian sanction or is it a very oppprtune way for Obama to ban a gun without Congress?

Opertune way to ban without congress. If it had come with other sanctions, maybe I would have believed it was anything other than political.

It's obviously aimed at gun control. If they wanted a sancton to hurt economically, they'd ban russian vodka.

Exactly. Guns are such a small portion of Russian exports to the US that it would have zero effect on the economy there. But it does allow Obama to ban some "assault weapons" without Congress.

Rifle Dynamics is already taking about making AK's completly in the US. Start to finish. The ban would not apply to them. Let's hope they do the shotgun to.

There are already US-made AKs. There are even Oklahoma Made AKs by Two Rivers Arms (owned by Steve Russell I think)

And it doesn't apply to serbia, czech, etc does it?

No, it does not apply to those counties....or yugo, Bulgarian, Romanian, Polish....there are still a lot of available AKs that are not effected by these sanctions.

Did not know there was already an American made AK, might have to look into one. No it will not effect the other countried that make AK's. Do those other companies make an equivelent of the Saiga shotgun though? That's what a lot of people are upset about.

Yeah that's the biggest and I sold mine earlier this year

There's still the akdal MKA 1919 and the intrepid RAS 12.

I'm sure somebody will pick up the slack

The AK market actually won't be affected but in the most minor way, except for degenerates price-gouging as much as they can before people realize how few AK parts come from Russia compared to other Comblocks.
