Wanting to build an AR. I think I may go with a Bravo company Upper but dont know about the lower. This will be my first and only AR. I want to spend whatever i need to to get a high quality rifle. Any advice or suggestions to steer me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

I've never built one from beginning to end, but there are a ton of people on this site that will guide you, and offer tons of advise.
Get ready ;) :D

if it is the only one you will ever build then go noveske upper and lower. Add whatever stock you LOVE best, an awesome trigger and all other super cool gizmos.

If you will only have 1 AR ever (like that's possible  ) Then do a truly custom build. I mean pick your favorite hand guard, barrel, muzzle brake, trigger, receivers, butt stock, bolt, gas block. EVERYTHING!!!!!! And then just have it assembled for you. It won't be cheaper, it won't be more convenient and it won't be faster. What it will be is YOUR rifle.

This. Ever heard of Black Rifle Disease. You'll get your "one and only AR" and then decide to buy a second upper for it to add to its versatility. Then you discover that for a little bit more you can build a lower to complete the "spare" upper. Next thing you know you're dispensing sexual favors behind the snow cone stand so that a stranger will give you a watch which you can turn around and pawn off for a new set of OD green furniture...

or so I hear :(

Hahahaha!^^^^^^^^^^^ !!! nice Taymoor now we know how you got all your cool toys! I can only speak for a couple different brands . But I would suggest shooting a couple diffent set ups that way when you start you know what you want . Terrell is right it wont be cheaper or faster. I've built Quentin defense , RRA , delton kit , and a yhm rifle with some DPMS parts all turned out great . Just a few hiccups with the QD build other than that all good. Get ready to spend countless hours researching different parts. Good luck we do expect to see some pics though.

For all who don't know this, Eellis eats an above average amount of snowcones. Also notice that he has a tan line on his wrist, but couldn't tell you the time.

2+2=4  ;)

THIS Expect to pay more for one you build yourself than one you can buy.
THIS NEXT If you ever sell it you won't get as much for it as a cheaper one you could have bought prebuilt.
FINALLY You will have more fun, frustration, learning opportunities, and pride in one you built but you will never get to shoot it as much as you think you will.

I agree with this

I don't agree with either of these.

Yes and yes.

What purpose will said one and only serve? Bravo Company is supposed to make good stuff but if you want to do specific types of shooting something else might suit your needs better.

I agree with Jesse.
If you're gonna plink, any ol' franken-hodge-podge assembly of parts will work.
If you're going to compete, think real hard about your parts.

Oh, and one is never, EVER enough.
