Heres that single stack I was talking up a few months ago. Its my personal gun. STI Sentry, and while not a true AI build, lets call it an Accurate Iron "Enhanced" 1911. In .40sw.
The Sentrys are build on forged frames. Good stuff, quite a step above the trojans and spartans.. The frame features 30lpi machine checkering, and has a fully ramped 416 stainless steel barrel and match bushing. .Comes in the stock STI case, lock, papers, etc. and one unused sti .40 magazine. I might be able to scrape up another couple for you.
Work performed by Accurate Iron was significant, since this was my personal gun. I did a full reliability package, including significant barrel work to optimize reliability. I installed an Ed Brown ambidextrous safety; contoured for ergonomics and properly bedded. A .100" wide Dawson fiber optic front sight and VZ flat bottom grips were installed. The area under the trigger guard was given a moderate undercut. The magazine opening was machine beveled and hand finished. The top of the slide was serrated to minimize sight glare. I machined a french border onto the top of the slide flat, because it looks cool. The bottom edges of the slide were machine beveled, and the whole gun received a moderate dehorning. The underside of the grip safety has a pin hole (not visible) if one wanted to pin the grip safety for competition. The trigger was massaged into a reliable and crisp 2.5 pounds. Dont let that scare you, I can adjust the weight as desired for the new owner. Just reblued it last week.
(I gotta thank Don Franson for helping to get me started with bluing. He's awesome!)
Heres the history of the gun; Bought it new in February of this year, got it all worked to shoot the 2011 SIngle Stack Classic in May. Shot it in about 5-6 local matches in feb-march and burned about 1000 rounds in practice. So the total round count through the barrel is about 2500. You might be ready for your first barrel replacement after about another 90,000 rounds. And the second, another 90k after that...
Stunk it up bad at the Classic (wasnt the gun) and shelved it pretty much the whole year. Im shooting a .45 this year due to caliber requirements for 3gun. Otherwise Id keep it.
The msrp on these is $1598, Best price out there for a new one is about $1450. I will include an AI receipt of all the additional parts and work performed. By quickly looking at that list, it'll probably total over $700.
For Boomer Shooterinians, Ill be looking for $1400. Trades? Try me. Never hurts to ask.
It will be going through my FFL, so buyer needs to do a 4473 or I can ship it to a FFL of theirs.
I dont want to sell you a gun that isnt right for you, so ask me if you have any questions; Im a straight shooter, these guys know.
ll give boomer shooter a day before I list it anywhere else. Like to see this go local.
