;thats my question. I'm about to work up a load for my 308. I'm going to neck size the brass since it will be going back through the same rifle. I'll be using a 165 Sierra SP over some 4064.

Does any one do a factory crimp on their 308 reloads?

I assume this is a bolt gun, I would not worry about a crimp that's just my opinion
If this is semiautomatic I would crimp & Full length resize each time

Like Corey said, for a bolt gun I'd not worry much about a crimp NOW I do tend to put a light crimp and the only reason I seem to get lower variations in velocity. I'm guessing this is going to be a hunting load? if so it couldn't hurt to add a light crimp as the shells will be beat around. Just my thoughts as your mileage may vary ;-) Later,

Kirk

I put a slight crimp on all of my centerfire rounds for all the reasons mentioned above. I have noticed soft points getting blunted while in the magazine of my box fed bolt rifles. I don't want any setback rounds.

all depends on your neck tensionafter sizing.
Certainly cant hurt anything but accuracy (in a small way)
