This should fit a standard 870 tactical right? Im thinking about using my 870 for heavy metal and this seems like it might work better than an 18 inch with zero choke

Yep, ought to go on any 870 that's not a Special Field (or whatever the weird ones were called). I've had it on an old 60s or 70s Wingmaster. It'll definitely work better than an 18" cylinder barrel.
