So, I went to Academy to pick up this years pair of safety shoes (boots), and perused the gun counter because I LOVE GUNS, and lo and behold, there was a Remington R1 at one end of the display. I've seen pictures of it, but holy crap is it a beautiful gun in real life! And $650 was the price, which seems like a hot ticket. In any case, that thing is WAY better looking than it comes across in photographs. Way better.

Country of origin?

They're made in the USA, at Remington's New York plant. Although, they do contain MIM parts. I was just surprised by the looks of this pistol. I wouldn't buy one unless the test of time is passed, since they are new to market. It really is a hot-looking gun, though, for a GI-type with a flat finish.

Latest issue of American Rifleman did a feature on them and they got pretty high marks for what they are. Accuracy even seemed to be decent, if memory serves.
