1911 knowledge

grip safety's... how far do you have to push them in before it comes off. my 1911 all you have to do is just barely move it in.
how are they suppose to be? pushed in all the way, 1/2 way?

I don't think there is a "supposed to be." I have half a dozen and they're all different.
